| Overview: | This contract involves the supply and installation of two separate bridges over the Midland Mainline Railtracks just outside Kings Ccross station in London. Both bridges were Launched into position during an extended track closure at Christmas 2002. The larger of the bridges is a trussed arch 15 metres high which weighs 920 tonnes and is 24 metres wide by 50 metres long and is skewed on plan. The plate girder sections which form the arch were constructed from plates up to 110mm thick. The second bridge is a standard through-deck plate girder design spanning 40 metres on the skew. |
